Aren’t churches that marry gay couples condoning homosexuality?
Last week I was watching a CNN broadcast a story about a Baptist church performing a gay union in the church. Now, this was a black pastor in a black church who performed the ceremony in the church. What was even more shocking was that he had over 100 other clergymen supporting him. In the interview he said that he viewed gay rights the same as the civil rights movement of the 60s. At no time did I hear a biblical scripture that supports his actions. Aren’t they condoning homosexuality?
God has given us the plan for the family and it starts with the man and woman. The institution of marriage was started in the book of Genesis with Adam and Eve. If you would like the fundamentals of the family, just refer to the bible. When pastors submit to the pressures of the world by performing gay marriages under the banner of the Christianity, that church have strayed away from the bible.
I am not trying to argue if God recognizes gay marriages, because it is clear that He does not. The bible calls homosexuality an abomination. Abomination refers to an extreme sense of hate that leads to abhorrence. Moses wrote about it in Leviticus.
Leviticus 18 KJV
22. Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Just to let you all know, I have a gay friend, just like I have fornicating friends, lying friends, adulterous friends, stealing friends and many more kind of sinning friends. I do not condone their sin and neither should any Christian.
Now, if this Baptist church is not claiming to adhere to the scriptures, then by all means continue uniting gay couples. If they are adhering to the scriptures, please tell the world which one? If they have chosen not to follow God’s plan, then say that and separate themselves from Christianity.
Now, I don’t understand how race and sexual orientation are comparable. I was born as a male and into the color skin I am in, but my sexual orientation is a choice. I had no choice on which color skin or gender I would have, but I have a choice in my sexual preference.
Homosexuality, fornication, adultery, and bestiality are all sins and it should not be condoned by Christians, Christian pastors or the Christian church. When will it stop? If a law passes that a man could have sex and marry his dog, will the church condone that, too? What if incest became legal and a father wanted to marry his biological daughter, would the church support that, too? Our church pastors are moving further and further away from the bible.
If we, Christians, in this country don’t stand up for God’s word, then one day we will be arrested for preaching it, even in our churches. There is going to come a day that churches will face lawsuits for not marrying gay and lesbian couples in the church and in this country, if we don’t say anything. We have the power to vote those in office who shares our beliefs. I urge you to vote those men and women in.
In closing, I am not pointing out another man’s sin, because we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). And I have my own sin to bear, but we serve a God of order and the behavior of churches performing these ceremonies is out of order!
1 Corinthians 14:40. Let all things be done decently and in order.
Read it for yourself.

This just further shows that the true believer who adheres to the scriptures must be ready because the Lord is coming soon, and that we must become a true witness one that shares the greatest gift ever given to mankind eternal life and not worry how we'll treated be because we are true believers. May the Lord have mercy on this nation.

Pam,
The Church makes us Christians look like hypocrites and unattractive to those we try to draw near to the Lord. The church is preaching the Gospel according to the Word of God which clearly states He made them male and female and the two shall become one. Also be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of the mind. Though the times have changed and lifestyles have changed. The Word has not!!!
